DENPASAR, Bali – A 71-year-old British man was found bleeding on the terrace of his hotel in Sanur Kauh, South Denpasar, on Friday night, August 22, 2025, after sustaining several stab wounds. He was allegedly attacked by his wife following a domestic dispute.
The victim, identified by initials JAW, suffered stab injuries to his neck, waist, and thigh. Witnesses said the couple had frequently quarreled before the incident.
“Information circulating suggests the perpetrator was his wife,” said a local source on Saturday, August 23, 2025.
Denpasar Police spokesperson AKP I Ketut Sukadi confirmed the case, describing it as domestic violence.
“From witness statements, the couple often argued. This incident was purely a domestic matter between husband and wife,” Sukadi explained.
The quarrel reportedly escalated on Friday evening, leading to the stabbing. The victim received first aid from the Denpasar City Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) before being rushed to Bali Mandara Hospital.
“The victim is currently receiving intensive care. We will update the media if there are further developments,” Sukadi said.
South Denpasar Police Chief AKP Agus Adi Apriyoga added that the victim remained conscious.
“He is undergoing observation and wound treatment in the operating room,” Apriyoga stated briefly.
Police have not yet provided details on the identity or legal status of the wife.
