GIANYAR, Bali – An American tourist Bali motorbike crash claimed one life on Jalan Raya Tengkulak, Kemenuh Village, Sukawati District, Gianyar, Bali, on Tuesday (Oct 28, 2025). The victim, identified as Mac D, died after losing control of a Yamaha Fazzio and being struck by a Toyota Fortuner.

According to witnesses, the tourist appeared unsteady and inexperienced in handling the motorbike before the crash. The victim was riding with a passenger, identified as C. Linn, when they reportedly lost control and fell onto the road.

At that moment, a Toyota Fortuner was approaching from the opposite direction and collided with the victim, causing fatal head injuries.

“The rider seemed to lose balance — it looked like it was his first time riding a motorbike,” a local witness told Tribun Bali.

Gianyar Police Traffic Unit investigator IPDA I Wayan Wijaya, authorized by Traffic Chief AKP Made Erdiana Putra, confirmed the fatal incident.

“The accident occurred on Tuesday, Oct 28, 2025, at around 11:15 a.m., involving an American national,” Wijaya said.

He added that the victim died at the scene and was taken to Ari Canti Hospital in Ubud, while the passenger was treated at Kenak Medika Clinic.

“The rider died at the scene, while the passenger sustained injuries. The crash happened as the motorbike veered right, leading to a collision,” Wijaya explained.

Police have detained the Fortuner driver for further questioning as the investigation continues.
