Japanese Man Arrested With Marijuana

KEROBOKAN

Bali Police arrested a Japanese man at his contracted house in Kerobokan after they discovered quantities of marijuana in a raid on the property on Saturday night.

Tomoyo Sugiama, 36, a Japanese citizen, was detained at the house Jl Raya Batu Belig in Kerobokan.  Officers from Bali’s Narcotics Unit organised the raid after reports from a member of the public claiming that Sugiama was a regular drug user.

A police spokesman said that the suspect did not resist arrest when the police team entered the property shortly after midnight, and although he initially refused to allow them to conduct a search, once a warrant was produced he complied.

The search uncovered 32.09 grams of dried marijuana.
