SANUR ~ A suspected pimp and 14 of his prostitutes were arrested by Denpasar Police on Sunday, police said.

Head of South Denpasar Police Heru Prasetyo said Ucok, 33, was arrested at Bungalow 808, Jl. Lantang Hidung, Sanur, along with 14 prostitutes working from the bungalow.

According to Prasetyo, who lead the operation, Ucok had been under police surveillance for some time and was suspected to have many prostitutes under his control.

Prasetyo said at the time of the arrests, officers found a book containing appointments for the girls and Rp400,000 (US$34) in cash.

“After questioning the girls, most of whom are from Bandung (West Java), police released them, but Ucok was still being held in the police station,” Prasetyo said.
