Lombok Fun Park Still a Frown

MATARAM

A long-running row over a proposed fun park at Narmada, near Mataram, has surfaced again, with a former West Lombok legislator warning the local government it should be wary of giving final approval to the company proposing the project.

Dianul Hayezi said he was worried about the company’s ability to finance the capital investment required for construction of the Lombok Funpark Patju, particularly since title ownership of the 8.4 hectares of land earmarked for the project is in dispute.

“Capital investment cannot be done before there is clarity on ownership and approval has been given and friends in the legislature must be careful in this matter,” Hayezi said in Mataram.

Caution in giving such consent was important because access to the land was blocked by a lawsuit, he said.

The ownership dispute has already been to mediation three times.
