JAKARTA
At least three people were killed and a dozen injured when two passenger trains collided in Java, the Transport Ministry said on Friday.
The accident occurred about 2am at a train station in Banjar district, located on the border of West and Central Java, when a train slammed into another that had stopped at a track.
“Three people were killed,” transport ministry spokesman Bambang Ervan said.
In October last year, 36 people were killed in a train collision in central Java.
