DENPASAR, Bali – Indonesian immigration authorities in Bali have detained three Ghanaian nationals suspected of entering the country using fraudulent investor stay permits and lacking proper immigration documents.
Head of Denpasar Immigration Office, R. Haryo Sakti, said the three individuals are currently under further investigation. “We are still examining the three individuals,” he said on Friday.
The suspects, identified by their initials SKY (46), ENA (44), and IA (49), were secured during a routine immigration enforcement operation dubbed “Dharma Dewata,” following reports from local residents.
Officers located the three men at a lodging facility in South Denpasar and escorted them to the immigration office for questioning.
According to immigration records, the trio entered Indonesia via Ngurah Rai International Airport in late 2025, holding limited stay permits (ITAS) under the investor category.
However, authorities found inconsistencies during the inspection. ENA and IA were unable to present their original passports, while SKY failed to clearly explain the company sponsoring his alleged investment.
Haryo emphasized that intensified monitoring of foreign nationals is essential to maintain public order and ensure their presence contributes positively to Bali.
The “Dharma Dewata” operation is also aimed at strengthening enforcement response and improving public safety, while serving as direct immigration awareness outreach.
Data from Bali’s regional immigration office shows that between January 1 and April 12, 2026, authorities carried out 165 deportations and 62 immigration enforcement actions across the province.
