DENPASAR, Bali – The Bali Regional Police have introduced a digital platform called Cakrawasi (Cakra Pengawasan Orang Asing) to strengthen monitoring and data collection of foreigners’ activities across the island, aiming to curb legal violations and misuse of stay permits.
Bali Police Chief Inspector General Daniel Adityajaya said the system was designed to improve oversight of foreign nationals through a more integrated monitoring mechanism.
“With this system, the risks of illegal activities, misuse of stay permits, and other legal violations can be minimized and mitigated immediately,” Daniel said in Denpasar on Saturday (March 14, 2026).
The Cakrawasi application functions as an integrated surveillance system that tracks the presence and movement of foreigners in real time, supported by a centralized Command Center that analyzes the collected data.
The platform comes as Bali continues to experience a surge in international tourism, with 7.05 million foreign visitors recorded in 2025.
Under the system, accommodation providers—including hotels and villas—are required to submit accurate guest data that matches the original passport used by foreign visitors.
Authorities say the initiative is intended to close security gaps, including cases where criminal actors use multiple or forged passports to exploit weaknesses in tourism administration.
