Denpasar – The Directorate General of Immigration at the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkumham) has established a special task force called “Satgas Bali Becik” with the aim of monitoring foreign nationals (WNAs) in Bali.
The task force was formed through the issuance of a Decree from the Director General of Immigration with reference number IMI-0187.GR.01.01, dated 23 June 2023. This action comes as a response to the recent surge in legal and norm violations by foreigners in Bali.
“Satgas Bali Becik urges the Balinese community to report any violations committed by foreigners to the hotline number 081399679966,” stated Director General of Immigration, Silmy Karim, in a written statement quoted from detik.com.
Satgas Bali Becik is composed of various elements, including the Directorate General of Immigration, the Immigration Division of the Kemenkumham Regional Office in Bali, the Ngurah Rai Immigration Office, the Denpasar Immigration Office, the Singaraja Immigration Office, and the Denpasar Immigration Detention Center (Rudenim).
As the name implies, Silmy explained that the establishment of this task force aims to enforce regulations on foreigners for the betterment of Bali (Bali Becik).
Satgas Bali Becik has a limited term of duty, until 31 December 2023. The task force is expected to curb the misconduct of foreign tourists, primarily those categorized as “bule,” who have been involved in various legal violations in Bali.
Silmy also mentioned that the formation of Satgas Bali Becik is in response to the issuance of “do’s and don’ts” by the Provincial Government of Bali, which includes 12 Obligations and 8 Prohibitions for Foreigners.
“In its implementation, we will undoubtedly collaborate with other relevant authorities and agencies. With this task force, we hope that Bali Becik can truly be realized,” Silmy concluded.
Based on data from the Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kanwil Kemenkumham) in Bali from January until 23 June 2023, a total of 163 foreign nationals have been deported or forcibly repatriated.
