JAKARTA ~ Two people were killed and one was injured when a bomb used for fishing exploded in a Java village on Tuesday, police said.
The explosion ripped through a wooden hut in Ciruang village on the western end of Java island at around 2pm, national police spokesman Abubakar Nataprawira said.
“The result of preliminary investigations is that the explosion was from a bomb used for fishing,” Nataprawira said.
Bomb experts would conduct further inquiries into the cause of the blast, he said.
Villagers often use explosives in fishing.
A TNT “fish bomb” killed three people in a house in East Java in August last year.
