Denpasar has finished building a full-facility cargo terminal that will also serve to alleviate gridlocked traffic in the capital, Denpasar Mayors Office spokesman Made Erwin Suryadarma said on Tuesday.
Located in Padangsambian, Denpasar, the Rp24-billion (US$2.6-million) terminal comprises warehouses, offices and lodgings set on 2.5 hectares of land, and is currently waiting approval from the Directorate General of Land Transport to start operations.
“Every truck will then be required to offload at the terminal, so there will be no more trucks going through the city,†said Suryadarma.
