Ciao Ciao Bello!

Ciao Ciao Bello!

A felicitous farewell was held last week at the Oberoi hotel to send off General Manager Pierre Berclaz, who left the well-established beachfront resort to take up a pre-opening post at an exclusive resort boutique hotel owned by an Italian duke in the city of love, Rome. The fair-haired Swiss-Belgium hosted the dinner for a select few, including Christian and Daniel Vanneque, Warisan’s Dou-Dou and Said Alem and Maurice and Ana Deroiij, who dined (as a parting tribute) on classic Swiss Fondue, platters of antipasto and frangipani tempura audaciously served by Exec Chef Enrico Wahl. Plentiful amounts of wine were imbibed before the merry crowd jumped into a resort buggy chauffeured by the parting GM up the wee road to the Living Room (oops, sorry about the broken flower pots, Danny boy!) where champagne, cigars and some seriously riotous bar-top dancing took place. The sendoff was a fitting farewell for the charming Pierre – au-revoir and ciao-ciao; we’ll miss you!
