Mangrove in Nusa Penida, an island separated from the mainland of Bali, is attracted local and foreign tourists.
“By using fishing boat, tourists can enjoy the natural scenery of sustainable forest, besides the beauty of the underwater world that collects thousands of species of fish,” said the regent of Klungkung, Nyoman Suwirta in Nusa Penida, Thursday.
The mangrove area mentioned above is 230 hectares along the coast from Jungutbatu village to Lembongan Village, Nusa Penida. The Mangrove forest area has 13 species offers a unique and attractive potential that can increase the village’s income and local governments, in addition to increase the income of local communities.
Suwirta added, the whole area of the mangrove forests become part of Water Conservation Area of Nusa Penida.
“It can be calculated if the extensive forest is well managed, it will bring in substantial revenue both for the village and the Regency,” said Regent Suwirta.
