Tourism Minister Inaugurates Tarukan as Tourism Village

Tourism and Creative Economy Minister Marie Elka Pangestu inaugurated Banjar Tarukan Tourism Village, Ubud, Gianyar Regency, on Saturday.

Banjar Tarukan in Ubud has great potential in the field of arts and culture to be one of the tourism attractions for local and foreign tourists.

Tarukan Tourism Village was prepared as a tourism object with such arrangement of the environment with the support of Gianyar Regent, Anak Agung Gede Bharata.

The village’s hall is decorated with exquisite relief that the only one style in Bali.

Since 1970, the local community has been capable of displaying art drama performances to Jakarta.

It also has a number of traditional music instrument and dance studio as well as a variety of ritual activities held by the local community.

Besides, the village also has the view of rice fields and natural tourism activities.

The potential and the advantages of the village are not widely known yet by foreign tourists.

Tourism Minister Marie Pangestu promised to discuss it with her staff to build, organize and integrated tourism management at the village, as in six other regions in Indonesia that has been developed by the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy.

Similarly to revive the glory of the art of sculpture in Mas, Ubud is necessary to have some sort of non-formal education where the maestros can teach the younger generation about the art of sculpture as a promising art.

“Therefore it is necessary to develop something that focuses involving the world’s maestros to be held at Mas. It will fasten promotional statue in  Mas Village, Ubud,” said Marie Pangestu.
