Three agencies have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for not doing television and radio broadcasts during Nyepi Day for Hindus in Bali on March 21st, 2015.
The three institutions namely Indonesian Broadcasting Commission (KPID) representing broadcasters Bali, Bali Provincial Government and Information Commission I DPRD (Legislative Council) Bali Province in the local parliament building on Monday.
Chairman of KPID Bali Anak Agung Gede Rai Sahadewa said his party committed to appeal to all broadcasters, both radio and television broadcasters including subscription under the authority of KPID Bali to not to broadcast on Nyepi Day in Bali.
“On Nyepi, television and radio stations will be off from 06.00 am until March 22, 2015 at 06.00 local time,” he said.
This agreement will be escorted and will also be communicated to the Minister of Information and Communication and KPI in Jakarta to inform that on Nyepi Day entire television and radio broadcasts in Bali will be stopped for 24 hours.
Meanwhile, Head of the Department of Transportation and Communications Information Bali Province, I Ketut Artika said Nyepi Day gives the efficiency on the use of fuel (BBM) in Bali, including also not encountered in exhaust emissions during one day. In connection with the Nyepi Day, his department has coordinated with the district and the city, especially in the transport sector to work together to keep the conduciveness at the holy day for not doing the activity in harbor entrance.
