DENPASAR ~
Economic observers, Made Ernita Kurniati assessed the need for the investment in Bali to be directed to the northern part of Bali namely Buleleng Regency in the hope that the economy will develop equal to south Bali.
“The balance development of the southern and northern Bali is very important, considering that southern Bali that covers Denpasar, Badung, Gianyar and Tabanan (Sarbagita) condition is very dense and crowded,” said Ernita who is also Director of the Center for Education and Training of Enginering (BPLE) Tiara Course, in Denpasar, Tuesday.
She expected the Provincial Government of Bali with various efforts can build infrastructure and develop the potential of northern Bali so as to lift the lives of local people. “Do not just develop southern Bali, the condition is very dense, investors may be directed to manage the potential in northern Bali,” she hoped.
According to her, the development gaps between North Bali and South Bali should be addressed seriously. If it is ignored, the area of north Bali will continue to lag behind various aspects of development. “If the government wants economy to develop evenly in all regencies, Buleleng should get serious handling,” he said.
Ernita highlighted the investment climate in Buleleng, almost no investors willing to develop business in that area. It brings impacts to the economic inequality that resulted in poverty that continues to grow in Buleleng.
Such less investment situation also impacts on employment. Many Buleleng people work in Denpasar, Badung, Gianyar and Tabanan.
