Governor of South Sulawesi Asks Bali to Help Promoting Tourism

South Sulawesi Governor Syahrul Yasin Limpo asked Bali Provincial Government helped to promote tourism and cultural potential of the region to the international world.

Yasin Limpo, when met with Bali Governor Made Pastika, in Denpasar, on Friday expressed his desire because during this time Bali has been recognized in the international community.

He said he wanted to establish cooperation in the field of tourism and culture in Bali, especially in order to promote Tana Toraja tourist destination, as it has similarities with Balinese customs.

He said there are unique funeral for someone who died made a ritual that aims to make the human spirit or soul back into eternity with ancestors.

On the other hand, South Sulawesi also has incredible natural potential such as beaches which are suitable for diving but has not been explored so that the area was not well developed.

Meanwhile, Bali Governor Made Pastika welcomed the willingness of South Sulawesi governor and suggested to provide good tourism facilities, equipped human resources who are competent in their field and be friendly.

It is simple, he said, is very influential for tourism services even as spearheaded the development of the area. “There will be no tourists if there is no friendly service,” he said.

Pastika also stressed the importance of taking care of public facilities such as toilets and the environment, as well as public awareness to keep hygiene and environment.

Infrastructure, he added, is also not to be missed including transportation facilities such as airport location and available transportation services must provide security for tourists.

On the other hand, Pastika also suggested South Sulawesi Governor stay a few days longer in Bali to learn existing infrastructure in Bali as an inspiration to develop tourism and culture in the region.
