Klungkung Regent, Nyoman Suwirta, projected Besan Village as a pilot project of tourism village in the region.

“With the temple, it is now how we can make it later as a spiritual tourist village,” he said when met face to face with the people (simakrama) in Besan Village, Dawan district, Klungkung regency, Bali.

According to Nyoman Suwirta, Besan village is not lesser than Penglipuran, Bangli regency, as the best tourist village on the island.

Besides large temples, in Besan village there is also has the potential of plantation because of its location on the Abah hills.

Therefore, Suwirta instructed the Public Works Department to prepare infrastructure by improving infrastructure toward Besan village.

“All access to Besan village should either through funding that is already budgeted in 2015,” he said.

He also asked for the support of Besan villagers to realize the tourism village plan.
