Bali Improves the Entrepreneurship Movement on Youth

Department of Cooperatives and SME (diskopukm) of Bali Province continues to improve entrepreneurship movement in the younger generation on the island in such a way that they will be able to create jobs opportunity independently.

“This program is a major priority of the Ministry of Cooperatives and SME and especially in Bali so that the youth do not just become a civil servant, but can be an entrepreneur independently,” said Head of Bali Provincial Cooperative SME I Dewa Nyoman Patra in Denpasar.

The effort aims to broaden youth’s mindset to create their own job opportunity.

He said, to broaden the insight of the young generation, his team directly comes to schools and colleges to provide training in entrepreneurship and provide initial capital to entrepreneurs.

“For a start-up capital to entrepreneurs, especially the students who want to be an entrepreneur is given fund Rp5 million to Rp25 million in accordance with the proposals,” he said.

He added that they may submit a proposal. Later, the initial capital will be given without any interest. According to him, the program will continue to be encouraged in order to provide venture capital to young entrepreneurs in Bali.

Before providing the initial capital, Patra said, there is a team sorting the requirements that must be met by the young entrepreneur. Then, it is proposed to the Ministry of Cooperatives and SME.

The main requirement, young entrepreneurs need to follow motivation training and socialization to build the business. After that, they will be rewarded with a certificate.

Meanwhile, small businesses also receive funds if propose to Cooperatives and SME in the province of Bali. Then, when the business is growing quickly will be proposed to obtain a loan from the provincial budget funds given to mild interest.

According to him, for the cooperative capital will be given Rp100 million and Rp25 million for SME. When the business is developing, the report will be submitted to the Revolving Fund Management Institution so they can get additional fund up to hundreds of million rupiah.

“Therefore, for youth who are interested, can immediately submit a proposal for additional capital,” he said.
