Exports of various types of jewelry made from silver combined with gold and magical gems, widely exported to consumers in four countries, Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan and the United States.
“Those four countries buy over than ten percent and the commodities used as souvenir by foreign tourists who are in vacation there, so many Bali jewelries traded back in that country,” said Made Wijana, a jewelry businessman from Gianyar on Saturday.
He said that the entrepreneurs from those countries buy various items of jewelries mostly made from silver and gold, the touch of Balinese artist, then resale to foreign tourists who visit the country.
The entrepreneurs mostly ordered bracelets, earrings, necklaces and brooches characterized by Balinese style. The jewelries are traded to the tourists who have not been to Bali, but would like to have it.
Made Wijana added that the international community is interested in buying jewelry from Bali, because of the local artists are creative enough to create updated design, combined with local sense which looks unique and antique.
Entrepreneur partners from abroad usually send some designs that will be sold next year, and the design that is sent over the Internet can be transformed and combined with local sense of Bali so highly requested by overseas consumers, said Wijana.
The importers from those four countries were recorded as the most frequent to buy jewelry from Bali since the early of 2014, and they bordered a lot of different art jewelry to meet local consumers.
Central Statistics Agency (BPS) of Bali recorded, Bali jewelery trade volume for July 2014 is 4.8 million dollars, the 30 percent were sent to Singapore and 16.32 percent to Hongkong, 11.98 percent to Japan and 10, 60 percent to Amerika
Various handicrafts made by skillful hands of Balinese artists in a form of sea horses, arowana fish, made from shells, then decorated with silver engraving is highly interested by foreign consumers.
