A total of 23 Pakraman or traditional villages in the district of Kediri, Tabanan Regency, Bali, to follow the first Tanah Lot ‘baleganjur’ (traditional music group) Festival on 3-4 July 2015.
According to Operation Manager Destination Region (DTW) Tanah Lot I Ketut Toya Adnyana in Tabanan, on Wednesday, the purpose of the festival is to give space to artists to show their skill and at once to increase tourist visits to Tanah Lot.
“The festival is also intended to allow tourists to know that this attraction also has a unique art to be seen besides to see the sunset,” said Toya.
The event will be started at 11am with the route starts from the entrance to the area of Tanah Lot heading towards local ‘wantilan`, and ended up in the parking area of the temple.
Besides holding baleganjur Festival, he added, the event also will hold typical culinary dishes of Tabanan regency. Toya added that the objective of the event is as supporting program to Tabanan Regency’s vision in preserving the art and culture of Bali.
In addition, the festival is also hoped can provide special memories for tourists who visit and watch the baleganjur performances.
“I am optimist that this event can increase motivation and innovation of the younger generation in art that recently decreased by advances in technology,” he said.
