Bali Governor Made Pastika considered that Bali doesn’t deserve poverty problem as it has the potential of qualified human resources.

Pastika in simakrama (public meeting) with communities in Bangli regency, on Saturday, claimed that Bali has a lot of smart people, but have not had the courage to “go public”, besides Bali have adequate human resources vocal in politics.

“If intelligence is followed by attention and concrete action plan, then Bali which is touted as Paradise Island is no longer overshadowed by the problem of poverty,” he said.

According to him, each region in Bali must have a special character that can develop the region, for example is agriculture. He reminded regencies / city in Bali to develop areas other than tourism.

Local potentials are also able to provide social welfare, such as Bangli has good agricultural potential, in terms of cold natural conditions.

People who were present on the discussion also expressed their aspirations, e.g related to house renovation program and clean water problem.

Aspiration immediately got a response from the Governor of Bali stating that house renovation program will be followed up by Bali Provincial Social Service in collaboration with the district government.

The houses proposed by the head of the village will be verified first by the officer to match it with the criteria.

Regarding water, Governor instructed the Head of Public Works along with the related department to follow up the issue.
