NEGARA ~ Residents of Tegalcangkring village in Negara visited the Jembrana Assembly to ask about the village’s change of status to a subdistrict, a spokesman said.
Representatives for the villagers Putu Darmada and Ketut Sukirta were welcomed by head of the Assembly’s A Commission, Putu Dwita.
According to the representatives, villagers feel the status change has been forced upon them.
“We have had problems with a fake signature on documents regarding the status change,” Sukirta said
Sukirta and Darmada threatened to bring more villagers to protest in front of the Assembly if the problem was not dealt with fairly.
“We hope this problem can be solved, and Tegalcangkring will get its status as a village back,” he said.
Dwita said the Assembly would deal with the issue as soon as possible.
