SINGARAJA ~ Head of Pegayaman village, Buleleng, was accused by villagers of embezzling government funds meant for the poor, an official said.

Buleleng Police spokesman I Made Sudirsa said Asgor Ali was reported to police by villager Mohammad Ma’afi last Tuesday.

According to Ma’afi, Ali had been taking part of a rice and cash allowance given to villagers in need of assistance.

“We are not sure what category of case we are dealing with yet. We are still investigating,” Sudirsa said.
