Three Regencies in Bali Included in Red Zone of Public Services

DENPASAR ~

Most of public service work units (SKPD) in three regencies in Bali are included in the red zone with a very low level of service.

Head of the Bali Provincial Ombudsman Representative, Umar Ibnu Alkhatab, in Denpasar, on Tuesday said the three districts are Tabanan, Gianyar and Karangasem as surveys of public services in the September-December 2014.

He explained that of the 21 sectors in Gianyar, 13 of them entered the Red Zone with low compliance rate, six SKPDs enter the Yellow Zone with moderate adherence rates, and the rest go in the Green Zone with a high compliance rate.

Furthermore Tabanan consisting of 24 SKPD, 18 are included in the Red Zone, two entered the Yellow Zone, and the remaining four entered the Green Zone.

While Karangasem regency consisting of 26 SKPD, only three SKPDs enter the Green Zone, the four entered the Yellow Zone, the rest entered the Red Zone.

The results of this survey of public services will be delivered directly to the local government to be immediately followed up. The Ombudsman provides a maximum period of six months to make improvements. Based on the survey of the previous year in the city of Denpasar and Bali Province has showed good progress.

Thus, hopefully there are progress on public services in these three districts including all regencies, city and province of Bali.

In addition, by the low public service is potential for misuse or  abuse of authority.

Ombudsman Representative of Bali will continue to conduct a survey to provide an overview of progress of public services on the island.

They also encouraged people to be aware of and willing to report to Ombusman if there are any irregularities related to public services in Bali.
