PECATU ~ A special team to handle the problem of villas built in the holy area of Uluwatu has been proposed, an official said.
“The governor will soon establish a team to investigate villas that go against government policy in Uluwatu,” Tourism Department chief Gede Nurjaya said.
According to him, villas that were given permits a long time ago cannot be removed easily and that would not solve the problem.
“There are many sensitive elements in this case. We must find a solution that is agreeable for the people, investors and the government,” Nurjaya said.
In his opinion, he feels the holy area of Uluwatu should be secured, but the government must also be fair towards others involved.
