DENPASAR ~ Teachers from Junior High School 2 in Denpasar have met to discuss money allegedly missing from the school budget, which was discovered last month and has yet to be solved, an official said.
According to the teachers, they had not received any information from the police about the missing Rp62 million (US$6,200), and were becoming anxious.
Chief of Denpasar’s Education and Cultural Department I Gusti Lanang Jelantik, chief of the school IGN Winaya and Bali’s Indonesian Teacher’s Union official I Made Bagia were involved in the meeting.
“The teachers need this case to be investigated and finished soon,” teacher I Wayan Karjana said.
Another teacher, I Made Dana, said teachers were not necessarily demanding the money back, but they wanted to know where it went.
“The teachers are very concerned about the loss of the money because it is what provides books and materials for their students. They want to know whether the person who took the money was someone from the school or otherwise,” Dana said.
