DENPASAR, Bali — A Russian woman has been detained by immigration authorities in Bali after investigators discovered an online profile allegedly offering sexual services for Rp13.7 million, as part of a wider operation targeting suspected prostitution involving foreign nationals.

The 29-year-old woman, identified by the initials AS, was among three foreign women apprehended in Denpasar on Wednesday, October 28. Immigration officials announced the case on Monday, November 2.

Denpasar Immigration Office head R. Haryo Sakti said the operation began after authorities received reports from residents and conducted cyber patrols targeting suspicious online activity involving foreign nationals.

Investigators identified several profiles allegedly advertising sexual services, including one linked to the Russian woman that listed a rate of Rp13.7 million.

The advertised amount was among the findings reported by immigration officials, although authorities have not established publicly whether a transaction at that rate took place.

Three Foreign Women Under Investigation

The investigation also led authorities to two other women, identified as JN, 35, from Uganda, and BDC, 32, from Nigeria.

According to immigration officials, the Ugandan woman’s profile listed a rate of US$100, while the Nigerian woman’s profile advertised services for Rp3.5 million.

Officers first visited a villa in the Padangsambian area of Denpasar at approximately 7 p.m. on October 28, where they encountered the Ugandan national.

The Russian woman was located at the same property about two hours later, followed by the Nigerian woman during the subsequent operation.

Immigration checks found that the Russian and Ugandan women were using visas on arrival, while the Nigerian national had overstayed her permitted visit by 54 days.

Authorities suspect the women were engaging in activities inconsistent with the conditions of their immigration permits.

Haryo said the three women could face administrative immigration measures, including deportation and entry bans.

Immigration officials were also investigating whether other individuals or a broader network were involved in the suspected online prostitution activity.

The women were taken to the Denpasar Immigration Office for further examination. Their deportation had not been confirmed at the time of the announcement.
