Russian Man Injured in Alleged Group Assault in West Denpasar

DENPASAR, Bali – A Russian national was left with multiple injuries after an alleged late-night group assault in West Denpasar, with police now investigating the incident and working to identify those responsible.

The victim, Nikita Trifonov, 26, reported being attacked by several men on Jalan Pura Demak Barat No. 77, Tegal Harum, at around 9 p.m. on Sunday, June 21.

According to the victim’s report, the men allegedly approached him from behind before launching an unprovoked attack. He claimed he was struck in the back, causing him to lose his balance and fall to the ground.

While he was on the ground, the victim alleged that the attackers continued assaulting him by repeatedly kicking and striking him. He reportedly suffered bruising and abrasions to his back, a head injury, abrasions to his right knee, and persistent dizziness following the incident.

The victim, who works as a private-sector employee, reported the incident to Denpasar Police at around 3:20 p.m. on Monday, June 22.

Iptu I Gede Adi Saputra Jaya, Head of Public Relations at Denpasar Police, confirmed that officers had received the report and that the investigation is ongoing.

“We have received the report, and the case is currently being investigated,” Adi Saputra Jaya said.

According to the police report filed by the victim, two individuals—identified as Gede S and a man with the initials FJR—were mentioned in connection with the incident. Police have not named any suspects and said investigators are still examining each person’s alleged involvement, as well as the motive behind the reported assault.

Investigators are expected to interview witnesses and review CCTV footage from the surrounding area as they work to establish the full sequence of events.

No arrests have been announced, and the case remains under investigation.
