Local Government should Supervise Illegal Karaoke

DENPASAR ~

Vice Chairman of Commission I of Bali Legislative (DPRD) Wayan Tagel Arjana urged local governments and municipalities to oversee spa and karaoke businesses that operate illegally.

“I look forward to the government of regencies and city in Bali to oversee the existence of spa and karaoke business that has no license. Because of the presence especially in Badung and Denpasar is increasing,” he said in Denpasar on Friday.

He said the presence of the unlicensed business surely affect the income of the area, but on the other hand will lead to surrounding security, especially for those selling alcoholic drinks.

“If visitors disturb the surrounding security, who will be responsible for that? Thus, local governments must strictly enforce the rules relating to the establishment of spa and karaoke businesses,” he said.

Tagel Arjana said his party also received complaints from the public in Denpasar and Badung about illegal karaoke, but has been in operation.

“The local government through the Municipal Police Units and related agencies should give decisive action against them, as well as closing the business, until they get the licenses,” he said.
