DENPASAR ~ A member of the elite police Mobile Brigade (Brimob) was dismissed this week for failing to turn up to work for a year. His dismissal was made formal at a special parade at Brimob’s Batubulan headquarters – but the offender, Bripa Khoiral Fuad, did not turn up for that either.

Police spokesman Gede Sugianyar said Fuad was dismissed under Brimob Decree No. 282/IX/2009 for failing to ever engage in his position and for not being respectful. He said that even though Fuad did not attend his own dismissal ceremony, it was held as “a learning exercise” to others.
