PENYABANGAN ~ A motorbike-riding grandmother was killed in a traffic accident at the weekend, police said.

Head of Buleleng traffic police Andi Prihastomo said the motorbike was hit by a car on the road from Singaraja to Gilimanuk in Penyabangan, Gerokgak.

“Because of the careless of the driver of the car, and the fact that he did not keep his distance, he hit a motorbike that was turning to the right. A woman was killed instantly,” Prihastomo said, identifying her as a grandmother.

He said the car driver, Ramli, was being questioned and several witnesses had given statements.
