National airline Garuda Indonesia has increased seat capacity from Perth to Denpasar, providing a boost to the island’s tourism fortunes.

Some services that had been bound for Jakarta were now landing in Bali, the airline said, telling The Bali Times Garuda now flies nine times a week from Perth to Bali, up from seven previously.

It added that robust Australian demand for vacations in Bali was behind the change.
