DENPASAR ~ Bali’s Drugs Unit has arrested a gang of dealers of the drug ecstasy from Buleleng, police said.
“A series of arrests followed the capture of one suspect in a karaoke bar on Sunset Road, Kuta, on Tuesday. We also seized 134 ecstasy tablets as evidence,” Bali Police spokeswoman Sri Harmiti said.
Based on information from the first suspect, ecstasy tablets were sold for Rp200,000 (US$18.35) each.
“Officers went on to arrest two more suspects in Anyar village, Kuta, carrying a total of 56 tablets,” Sri Harmiti said.
She said the three suspects named the same man as their main supplier, and as a result the police made a fourth arrest the next day.
Officers said they were searching for one more suspect.
