DENPASAR ~ Three men accused of being behind a recent spate of robberies in the Denpasar area were arrested at the weekend, police said.

Head of Bali Police’s Criminal Division Achmad Nurkwahid said Lois Gonza Tasin alias Aziz, 20, Stepanus, 24, and one other man, whose name has been withheld, all from East Nusa Tenggara, were arrested in Sanur.

“They were all arrested at Aziz’s house on Jl. Tukad Yeh Poh,” he said.

According to Nurkwahid, police thought the men were part of a network of thieves who may have been responsible for an attack on a 29-year-old English woman on Jl. Sedap Malam, Denpasar, last Friday night.

He said other members of the network were still being pursued by police.
