Department of Industry and Trade Denpasar, Bali intensify the socialization of the ban on the sale of alcoholic beverages (Mikol) class A to small traders, stalls and supermarkets in the local area.
“We’ve been socialized to businesses and small stalls not to sell alcoholic beverages class A,” said Chief of cooperation and protection of Disperindag Denpasar Jarot Agung Iswayudi, in Denpasar on Wednesday.
Efforts are made so that small traders and supermarkets better understand and comply with the Regulation by re-sending letters to them.
In addition, his side has also informed the public and ‘sekaa truna-truni’ (youth group) who will hold a bazaar in the region, so as not to sell such Mikol, because the allowed party only the restaurant, and bar.
“When there is a technical guideline, we continue to hold socialization to merchants, the community and related supermarkets about the enactment of the Regulation,” he said.
Jarot said his side will continue to monitor Mikol in a number of small vendors or stalls and supermarkets in Denpasar, so there is no party breaking the rule.
Later, he also appealed to the agent distributors not to serve small traders that buy Mikol because the rule has been applied.
“I believe the distributors have known about the rule and hope to help Disperindag in socializing it,” he said.
It is acknowledged, the need for the involvement of all parties including the police, distributors and agents in the efforts to socialize the regulation.
He confirmed if the small traders are caught selling Mikol by reason of to spend the rest of the stock, it is still not allowed because the Regulation has been in force, and still be given decisive action.
Therefore, participation of all elements of society is needed to monitor and disseminate the rules not to sell Mikol in a small shops and a minimarket in Denpasar.
