Cooperative Head Suspected of Embezzlement

DENPASAR ~ One hundred and four customers have reported the head of the Bali Gangga Cooperative, I Made Sutana, 49, to the Denpasar Police for allegedly embezzling Rp1 billion.

Anak Agung Made Ariana, spokesman of the customers, said he filed a report with the police station on Wednesday.

Customers were angered when they discovered that the cooperative’s office address at Jl. Teuku Umar No. 168 turned out to be the location of a Japanese restaurant, he said.

“We still have to find Made Sutana. We checked his address at Buana Kubu No. 999 in Denpasar, but no one has ever seen him there. For now, we are collecting more information about him to report to the police,” Ariana said.

After interviewing Made Ariana, the police sent some officers to check out the office and investigate further into the case.
