SANGGULAN ~ Residents of Perean Tengah, Tabanan, questioned officials last week about a cellular tower erected in the village, an official said.

However, village official I Wayan Nadia said he had not received any information about the tower and was unable to answer residents’ questions.

He said village officials should have been informed about the tower, but had not even been told what it was for until after construction was finished.

Meanwhile, the secretary of an investigating team from Tabanan Assembly, I Gd Suadnyana Dharma, said there had been some irregularities with the building of the tower.

“The tower should have been stopped if there was anyone who did not agree with its construction,” Suadnyana said.

Other participants in the meeting said the operator of the tower must also be aware of Hindu ritual ceremonies when building.
