BADUNG, Bali — Police are investigating an alleged public indecency incident involving a foreign man and two women after CCTV footage captured the three engaging in a sexual act outside a resident’s home in Canggu, North Kuta, early Thursday morning.
The incident occurred at around 2:33 a.m. on Jalan Pantai Batu Bolong, according to North Kuta Police.
The homeowner, Julianta, said he was preparing to sleep when he heard people whispering outside his house. He checked his CCTV cameras and saw three people near the entrance.
The footage reportedly shows the foreign man taking money from his wallet before the alleged sexual act took place.
Julianta then went outside and confronted the three, asking them not to engage in such behaviour in front of his home.
“They went towards the road, and I followed them into the alley next to my house,” Julianta said.
He said the three appeared unfazed when confronted and even smiled before leaving the area on a motorbike, travelling north along Jalan Pantai Batu Bolong with all three riding together.
Julianta said he did not recognise the two women and could not determine the identities of the three because it was dark and their faces were not clearly visible in the CCTV footage.
He later uploaded the footage to his Instagram account, where it circulated widely on social media.
North Kuta Police subsequently visited the location and began collecting evidence, including CCTV footage from the area.
North Kuta Police Chief Kompol I Ketut Sukadana said officers were working to identify the three people involved.
“Once the video was detected as going viral on social media, we immediately deployed a team to check CCTV points around the location,” Sukadana said Thursday.
Police said the footage showed an interaction involving money before the alleged sexual act took place. The three then left the area, with the two women reportedly leaving first before the foreign man followed.
The three were later seen travelling north along Jalan Pantai Batu Bolong on a motorbike.
Police said they were continuing to gather evidence and identify the three people involved. Any legal action would be taken in accordance with applicable regulations.
Badung Police spokesperson Aiptu Ni Nyoman Ayu Inastuti confirmed that officers had inspected the location and that the case remained under investigation.
No material loss was reported by the homeowner.
