DENPASAR ~
Director of Bali Provincial Mental Hospital (RSJ) Dr. Gede Bagus Darmayasa admitted his side got overwhelmed with number of patients that increase significantly after the termination of the patient pick-up service and regular visits to various health centers.
“If the previous patient’s visit per day up to 90 people, it increase in the average of about 150 patients, in early January, “ he said in Denpasar on Sunday.
He argued, RSJ located in Bangli regency is not possible anymore to do pick up-patient services and mobile services since the enactment of Law on Mental Health.
Mental Health Act requires that health care is integrated, especially for patients who have the National Health Insurance card (JKN) by the Social Security Agency (BPJS).
Bangli RSJ outpatients, he said, should do the treatment stages. Namely, start from health centers, if not possible, patients have to go to hospital in regencies / city.
“We optimize the existing medical staffs. Previously, patients can be served until 12:00 pm, and now the time is added,” he said.
He added, patients treated to RSJ come from various regencies in Bali.
Although facing an increase, he believed that the new service can help also in terms of ease of doing tabulation of the patient’s condition. “On the other hand, we expect people in regencies / city to care for patients with mental disorders,” he said.
They still do pick up service, but specifically targeted at patients which are stocked. While other patients cannot continue to be served as it may violate the law and become a finding of Audit board.
