What can be done to improve Bali’s image?

The Balinese people must look after the tourists and make sure they also take care of the environment, as well as security. They must teach the younger generations not to forsake Balinese culture.

Are you satisfied with the current level of security?

It’s good in some areas, but not so good in others. There are thieves around who target villas and private homes.

Is the central government doing enough to improve Indonesia?

Not yet, I don’t think. It’s too expensive for the youth to study and people don’t earn enough money from their jobs. So it’s a vicious cycle.

What are the challenges that lie ahead?

The economy and education. Both need a lot of attention from the government.

Where’s the hottest spot in Bali right now?

Tanah Lot. Beautiful sunset and good food and handicrafts. (NK/BT)
