Marital status: Divorced What can be done to improve Bali’s image?

Clean up the place – traffic pollution and garbage.

Are you satisfied with the current level of security?

Yes; it’s not the worst.

Is the central government doing enough to improve Indonesia?

I don’t really follow what the government is doing, but I think there have been some good and bad changes. At least that means the government is doing something for their people, trying to look after them.

What are the challenges that lie ahead?

Making sure democracy is on the right track. There is a close relationship between democracy and corruption, and too much corruption in democracy. In Bali, I don’t think the caste system is a good thing, because no matter how hard people work or no matter how rich of successful they become, their caste will never change. It’s much different in my country: if people are successful, they automatically become part of the upper class.

Where’s the hottest spot in Bali right now?

I like Legian, and like staying at the Three Brothers Bungalows. It’s got a nice relaxed atmosphere.
