Police Seek Explosives, Find Arak Hoard

DENPASAR ~ The security clampdown in Bali following the Jakarta bombings have made life even more difficult for illegal arak (rice wine) traders.

Police checking traffic at the Denpasar city boundary on the Sanur-Kusamba by-pass last Monday found hundreds of litres of arak in a pick-up truck they stopped by chance.

A man was arrested.
