DENPASAR ~
Indonesian Hotel and Restaurant Association (PHRI) of Bali suggested, not to change the concept of cultural tourism in developing tourism in Bali.
“Until now we still persist on cultural tourism. As well as the spirit of its regulation,” said Chairman PHRI Bali Tjokorda Oka Artha Ardana Sukawati, on the sidelines of discussions with tourism practitioners, in Denpasar on Wednesday.
According to the man nicknamed Cok Ace, if persisted with cultural tourism, one of the conditions is that the number of tourists who come should not be too many or there must be a certain quota.
“However, on the other hand, the central government’s policy to target 20 million tourists visit has been opposed to the concept of cultural tourism,” he said.
In Cok Ace’s view, there are places that should be managed based on the quota for the tourist visit and there are also places that can be open widely. That cluster system is set also for the sake of Bali tourism fairness.
Cok Ace also suggested that there a format should be found so that there is fairness for the regions whose job is to preserve the culture, but do not get something in return.
Cok Ace pointed out that cultural tourism can still be maintained in the midst of contemporary conditions such as in the area of Taro, Gianyar. The sports tourism there can run well and harmonious. “And we should maintain the basic of it,” said Cok Ace.
