Bali Governor Made Mangku Pastika asked for any development of tourism facilities including hotels in Bali  based on the concept of Tri Hita Karana (THK), harmonization of the human relationship with God, nature and human beings.

“Basic development in Bali is Tri Hita Karana. All activities in Bali must have THK  nuance, moreover  hotel development,” he said in Kuta, Badung regency on Saturday.

According to him, local governments have contributed to hospitality in Bali based on the basic philosophy and wisdom of the local community as the government is the competent authority.

“The government has the authority. For example, when there is a new hotel that is about to be built, there will be no IMB (building permit) if the hotel has no concept of THK,” he said.

So far, the provincial government of Bali has a number of local regulations related to the THK concept among them are Spatial regulation including buildings with typical of Bali ornaments, to the rules to use local agricultural products.
