Department of Industry and Trade (Disperindag) of Bali will immediately coordinate with Disperindag in regencies / city on the island related to the prohibition of the sale of liquor in minimarkets.
“In accordance with Regulation of the Minister of Trade, the authority for the supervision and control of alcoholic beverages is in regencies and city,” said Head of Bali Provincial Disperindag Ni Wayan Kusumawathi, in Denpasar, on Thursday.
Although the liquor control authority is in regencies / city, Kusumawathi thought the importance of coordination step of the ban issued by the Ministry of Trade. She did not deny various alcoholic beverage products with levels of up to five percent that is sold in minimarkets in Bali.
Previously, Bali Governor Made Mangku Pastika also stated that Bali should comply with the regulations of Ministry of Trade.
According to the governor, the policy taken by the Ministry would have been through the study and consideration. “So we can carry it out, no problem,” he said.
Pastika viewed that it is too difficult to control the sale of liquor in minimarket.
And it is still fine if the ban is applied in tourism areas.
