Indonesian Culinary Tour Map Released Soon

JAKARTA ~

Indonesian culinary tour map that is visually attractive and interesting will be released soon at the end of June 2014.

Indonesia Tourism Promotion Agency (BPPI) soon to release the culinary tour map to fulfill information needed on culinary tour for tourists, especially foreigners.

“Therefore, we will release culinary city map that in the beginning stage for some big cities such as Jakarta, Surabaya, Bali, and Medan” said Chairman of BPPI, Yanti Soekamdani, in Jakarta, on Sunday.

This map, she said, is expected could help users in finding out information and location that is searched and targeted. The map is composed in attractive and interesting ways in terms of its visual, for example the five areas plus Pulau Seribu are differentiated by colors, so tourists directly know which parts of destinations that they want to search.

This map applied augmented reality technology in composing the map so that each image has barcode that can be scanned and will show various information such as video, slide, and also direct link to the website of each object, company, restaurant that is shown.

The augmented reality is used by young tourists and also the fact that the users of Smartphone in the world are continuously increasing.

“Now the tendency to digitalize information is greater. The city map we release is expected could respond to the demand,” she said.

For beginning stage, BPPI release city map of DKI Jakarta, and will be followed by other big cities in Indonesia in which its information will be renewed every three months.
