Launch of the Tourist Travel Pack at I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport, Bali.
BADUNG, Bali – Bank Indonesia has launched the Indonesia Tourist Travel Pack at the International Arrival Terminal of I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport, marking a strategic move to advance inclusive and sustainable digital innovation in Indonesia’s tourism sector.
The inauguration coincided with the opening of the Tourism Information Center (TIC) as a one-stop service hub facilitating the Indonesia Tourist Travel Pack and the QRIS Nusantara Tourism Booklet on Monday (10/11). The initiative forms part of the Bali Digital Innovation Festival (Baligivation 2025), a cross-sector collaboration platform strengthening Bali’s digital ecosystem.
The ceremony was attended by Bank Indonesia Deputy Governor Filianingsih Hendarta; Deputy for Digital Creativity and Technology at the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, Muhammad Neil El Himam; Expert Staff for Digital Transformation and Tourism Innovation, Masruroh; Head of Bank Indonesia Bali Office Erwin Soeriadimadja; General Manager Terminal of PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia, Goentoro; Chairman of PHRI Bali, Prof. Tjokorda Oka Artha Ardhana Sukawati; along with representatives from ASPI, payment service providers (Bank Mandiri, BNI, BRI, BCA, OVO, Gopay), Telkomsel, and tourism associations.
This collaboration reflects a concrete effort to accelerate digital transformation in Bali, particularly for international tourists seeking to make digital transactions during their visit. Filianingsih emphasized that the Indonesia Tourist Travel Pack is the first pilot project of its kind in Indonesia, with Bali serving as the launch site before expanding to other destinations nationwide.
The program aims to broaden foreign tourists’ access to and understanding of Indonesia’s digital payment ecosystem, while increasing domestic spending and contributing to foreign exchange earnings. Tourists purchasing a Telkomsel SIM card or eSIM at the arrival area receive direct guidance at the TIC on how to use electronic wallets—both card-based (Mandiri E-money, BCA Flazz, BRI Brizzi, BNI TapCash) and server-based (OVO, Gopay).
These electronic wallets can be used across various merchants at tourist spots, restaurants, souvenir centers, and public services throughout Bali. Currently, the island hosts 1.03 million merchants accepting digital payments. Foreign tourists can also try QRIS Tap for public transportation services such as Trans Metro Dewata and Trans Sarbagita.
The Indonesia Tourist Travel Pack stands as a digital innovation that strengthens Bali’s branding as a Digital Island, supporting increased tourist arrivals and foreign exchange revenue. Digital transformation in tourism is not only about technology—it ensures inclusion and education for foreign visitors to make transactions safe, seamless, and comfortable.
Bali continues to evolve and reinforce its commitment to becoming a globally adaptive digital tourism destination.
