DENPASAR ~
Minister of Justice and Human Rights (Menkumham) Yasonna Laoly asked the improvement of facilities and services at the Immigration Office Class I Denpasar, Bali, to simplify the process of immigration to local and foreign people.
Laoly claimed that based on his review, one of the main concerns is the speed of the internet connection in handling passport because it is connected directly to the central government.
“The Internet’s bandwidth is still so small that one person takes 30 minutes,” he said. While the data processing for passport is still concentrated in Jakarta, so it makes longer lines.
For that in the near future he will discusses it to the internal ranks of the ministry, including talking to the Ministry of Communications and Information to find a breakthrough toward the internet connection. Laoly also expected a wider waiting room for passport applicants and other immigration administrations, including the addition of air conditioning.
Meanwhile, the head of Immigration Office Class I Denpasar Bambang Wisnu said that his side will follow the input given by the minister. “We will coordinate it with the Central Government and the Ministry of Communications and Information to improve the Internet connection. We will always innovate,” he said.
However, the immigration office has made innovations such as improvement on building and passport services because previously one person could take an hour. They will add passport counters which currently there are only four units.
