Head of Commission B Badung regency Parliament I Made Sumertha urged the local government to take firm action against illegal hotel and villas construction in the region.

“Controlling illegal hotels and villas to guarantee safety and comfort of the tourists who are spending their holiday in Bali,” he said in Mangupura, Badung regency, Bali, on Friday.

The Indonesia Democratic Party of Struggle politician admitted that he often conducts raid and even give warning to the investors who are in purpose constructing hotels and villas without any permission from local government.

“In fact, what is found is that investors build the hotel first before finalizing the administration,” he said.

Therefore, he will call the regional administration work force to ask for clarity on the issue. “Don’t let the illegal hotels construction keep increasing in Badung Regency,” he said.

Previously, the Chief of Badung Police Adjunct Commisioner Komang Suartana also expected local government to collect the data of villas in their region.
